My friend Annie is Guest Designer this month at the Creative Artiste Challenge Blog where the theme is "Anything Mixed Media Goes".

My Art Group meets once a month and we have four hours in the studio to play with paints, paper, fabrics and whatever else we like.
I had the most marvellous time last month making "messy pages" in the journal, ready for future projects.

I used watercolour paints, Tombow artist pens, a black drawing pen and an irridescent pen.  I made the left hand page with the pink watercolours only and created the rest of the page back at home.  There is also a little bit of collage - the star, and the second flower on the left which replaced the one I had painted.

I photo-edited the painting above to give

And I made two cards (I never have enough Greeting or Birthday cards).  They are presented here by Alicia, who is looking rather nervous as she has never presented cards on the blog before.  Alicia is not her real name.  It is her Internet name as she is very security conscious.

I hope you enjoyed these mixed media artworks and I'll be back again with more later this month.

I love your garden by day painting and how you transformed it into the garden by night! The day time looks so pretty in pink and the flowers look so iridescent on the nighttime scene - beautiful 😁. They make such wonderful greetings cards too. It's so lovely to catch up with you again and thanks so much for joining us at Creative Artiste! Happy December and Christmas wishes! Hugs Jo x

First off, I like your new blog banner with the monochromatic painting then giving bits some blue and green color.
How fun to paint some art journal page backgrounds at an art group meeting then add to the pages later on. The pink garden by day is a garden that I’d love to stroll through admiring all those unique and rare flower species. Then by night, I think they’ve all come to life and are dancing around enjoying their secret life. The garden by night is similar to my massive cross stitch project that I’m working on (for the next several years). Kind of a peek into the world beneath the one we know. Don’t both paintings make great cards! ‘Alicia’ is doing a great job presenting them. Her sweet personality is perfect for this gig.

Your gardens are so beautiful, I especially like that night garden, it's mystic!

I feel Alicia since I also I have an Internet name!

I've missed you posting Sheila. I always enjoy your fun pages. Your messy pages don't look messy to me. It looks like you had fun. I love your quirky flowers too. They have so much personality. I even like them by night. I need a weekly or monthly art group. It sounds like a good time. I hope life is treating you well, and that your December has started well. Hugs-Erika

Sorry this is a generic message, but it's all I could pull together. Late Thursday as I headed to the basement, I caught my sleeve on the railing and lost my balance. I fell down 13 of the 14 steps to the basement floor. I laid there for what seemed like hours, but in reality was probably little more than 20-30 minutes. When I was able to get up, I realized I had hurt my back enough that all I could do was lie on it. I have trouble sitting or standing. I hope you understand. If I normally visit you every day, I hope/plan to feel better by Monday. Thanks for your support and understanding. PLEASE, NO SYMPATHY. It was my own stupidity.

I wish I had more time to visit, Sheila, because I have missed you a LOT!
