THE LANGUAGE OF FLOWERS

I love the Honesty plant.  It is well named.  It is trustworthy and reliable and seeds itself anew every year but not in an obtrusive way.
It quietly says "Hello. Here I am again".

I'm joining in with Elle's theme "Language" at "Art Journal Journey" with the language of the flowers.

I was sorting through a box of old artworks when these fell out of an envelope and made a rather pretty arrangement all by themselves.

The flowers talking on black

and on pink.

I used the on-black pattern to create and print wrapping paper.

Here is Cecil again, showing the wrapped present and the Birthday card.

Cecil doesn't talk much but he does make his presence known.

I miss having honesty - think I need to sneak some seeds around the communal gardens! I love the flowers on the black most but on pink they look more delicate! Thanks for joining us at AJJ. Hugs, Chris

I love this arrangement Sheila and how it looks with a black background. So pretty. And that makes the best wrapping paper too. Someone is lucky to get such artistic paper. Of course they could frame that paper. Hope all is well with you. Happy May and thanks for sharing with us at AJJ. Hugs Erika

Your Honesty plant is SOOO pretty!
Isn’t that so considerate of your previous artwork to jump out for your attention and make artwork of themselves for you. Such smart little pieces. They are so pretty and bright on the black and softly pretty on the pale pink.
What a pretty impact the wrapping paper makes. It screams “I am a gift in more ways than one!” And so unique. With the contrasting card, together they make a treasured gift.
I see Cecil is playing it low-key in this presentation. Douglas must have been watching.

I've never heard of an Honesty plant, but it is beautiful. Of course, I absolutely adore your newest journal page, the wrapping paper, and card you created under Cecil's watchful eye. I think the black background has the most impact. Thanks for sharing this with us at Art Journal Journey using Elle's theme, dear friend.

Wow, your wrapping paper and card look so amazing! I love your design, when I saw them all laid out in your photo, I really wasn't sure what design you were going to create - it turned out so beautifully 😀. The little face peeping out from the flower pot made me smile! I hope you're having a lovely Bank Holiday Weekend! Happy May! Hugs, Jo x

Oh Wow, that wrapping paper is gorgeous. Doesn't it look fabulous on the black background. And to have a matching card too but with a different colour for the background - now that is really special. What a fantastic idea.
I haven't seen honesty in ages - I used to love the papery leaves - they shimmer so beautifully.
Hugs, Neet xx

I love honesty plants, they have the interesting seed pods don't they? Very decorative. Love your layouts and they make great wrapping paper and cards too. I bought an A3 printer for the same thing, so I could print my own gift wrap. It's been great fun! Sorry for the delay in commenting due to being ill. Thanks for joining me for the Language theme at Art Journal Journey this month Elle xx

A collection of interesting shapes and colours somehow brought together to make super wrapping paper and a card. Sheila magic. I like the white background as it gives the design a feeling of space and light

The honesty flowers are so lovely and vibrant.
.My favourite picture is the one with the flowers on the black background as it highlights the vibrancy of the flowers more, but the colour combination of the wrapping paper and the card together is superb.
