Hello everyone.
We are now back from our travels and I'm looking forward to seeing everyone again.

Yvonne at "Art Journal Journey" is asking us to make art on the great theme "A World of Fantasy".

This was just right up its street for my computer mouse who likes to play with the old Windows Paint program with its basic brushes and colours.  I enjoy the clear graphic colours and crazy designs the mouse invents.

In another challenge Yvonne and the gang at "Try it on Tuesday" are asking us to "Slap it on" so the next piece is for both this challenge and also for the aforementioned "A World of Fantasy" challenge at "Art Journal Journey".

I painted with inks, watercolours, pens, oil pastels and stamping.
Can you see anything yet?

Changed the colours but nothing else

and voilà! we have

In other news a new teddy has arrived at Orange Esmeralda's house.

She's still very shy and we don't know what her name is yet.
Do you have any suggestions?

How nice to see this latest post. I thought of bashful, but I bet you want more of a human name for your adorable new bear.

Of course, the two wonderful fantasies you have created for Yvonne's theme are right up your alley and SO YOU. Your little mouse had a field day and your paint took on a life of its own. I wish MY paint was so well behaved. Unfortunately, I tend to make mud! Thanks for joining in on the fun fantasies at Art Journal Journey, dear Sheila.

Wow, Sheila, both these pages are fabulous. The first created with Mr Mouse had me thinking all kinds of fantasies that the bird will fly into on the journey through the mountains.
Then I saw the awesome multi layered painted page and off I went again wondering where this fantasy would end.
Thank you Sheila for adding these to Art Journal Journey and for linking to Try it on Tuesdays as well.
Yvonne xx

You’re back with your delightful fantasy art! I see sweet birdie is not flying alone. There are two companions...just in case he falters as he’s never flown so high before. That very fun pink thingy is watching out for the little bird too. The flowers on the mountain are rooting for little bird’s highest flight. For your slap it on piece, gosh I see lots of things. I see four reindeer prancing around. Several flowers, some sheet music, a poodle, a pink ladder to climb and a child playing in a tree. However, in the color change picture the child has turned into an octopus. Aww, your little green friend is playing with one of the reindeer.

How precious, a new teddy! Let’s see...Gladys, no too old of a name for this youngen, maybe Grace or Lillian or Bernice.

Oh dear Sheila! I missed your wonderful art. Great to have you back in blogland after the vacation!
A BIRD FLIES ABOVE THE MOUNTAINS is so lovely and I am in love with the critters and the colours you have chosen! And that AMAZING background and what you did with it to find TWO YOUNG FRIENDS PLAYING IN THE GARDEN - so artsy and fancyful!!!
You know how happy you make me with joining Art Journal Journey and Try It On Tuesday! Thank you from the bottom of my heart my friend! Much appreciated! Thank you!
She looks like she is a Paula, can't help, that was the first name that came to mind as I saw your new Teddy!

Big , big hugs

Hope you had some fabulous travel and went someplace enjoyable. I'm glad to see you back. I looked at your colored painted and I saw a little girl with the top of her brown painted head. She is walking on a bridge over a river in the forest. It was fun to do. Love the latest art too Sheila. Hope your weather cools off soon. Hugs-Erika

Oh, a new teddy! When I saw her there looking shy, the name Leila came to my mind. Don't know why, she just felt like a Leila.

Hope all your travels were nice, inspirational and fun! At least you've been having fun with Paint creating that courageous bird flying over those huge hills.

I like those two versions with different colors, it's amazing how the atmosphere in garden changes so much depending on what color is the background. This time I prefer that darker version, it reminds me of autumn evenings, dark and windy, starry sky.

Your bird flying over the mountains is wonderful, I love the colours! Your abstract piece really captures the imagination too, I think there may be a moose looking out in the top left hand corner - he can be found where the blue stripe meets the green on the top left - can you see the eyes looking out at you 😉. I think he chose the right spot to eat some of the green vegetation and still be camouflaged 😉. Teddy must be enjoying exploring your beautiful garden, and so nice for Douglas and Mabel to have a new friend 😀. Happy Friday and wishing you a wonderful weekend too! J 😊 x

A wonderful title for your computer painting - your mouse is a master in Windows Paint! I love this bird!
And YOU are a master in painting layers with different materials (yes, I can see them yet) - your picture is gorgeous in colours and texture! Changing the colours on your computer made a second beautiful piece!
The new teddy is lovely, hello dear! Her name is SHYla!

Hello Sheila. I'm so happy you're back from your summer travels. I love the two pieces of artwork you shared. I think a fitting name for your adorable new teddy would be "Oatmeal".

Some wonderful pieces, as always, and such a contrast to each other. I have to say I love your 'slap it on' piece, and the dark one looks particularly good - you should frame it.
I hope new teddy will be very happy in her new home. Jx

Everything beautiful and colourful! World of fantasy is absolutely your theme, you always paint fantasy worlds in your work!
The abstract play of colors is a firework, a picture full of energy!
At the moment I lack the energy, because there is so much to do that I don't even know where to start...
Best regards Ulrike
...welcome to your new teddy-friend!

Hi there Sheila. Great to see you painting away so beautifully - you have a clever mouse! As always, such pretty colour combos.
The slap it on certainly worked out well- I love the conclusion, well done.
Welcome to your new teddy bear. The name Bella came from nowhere, but she looks such a sweetie and has the prettiest face. Lots of great suggestions from others - perhaps Douglas might have one?
Cheers and lovely to catch up again. Sue :D) xx

Hello Sheila - you sure look like you had a lot of fun creating these fab pieces - and I could easily sit here for hours finding different things amongst the colours and shapes :)
and I spotted a little field mouse face ( 2 ears, an eye and whisker) on the the topish-left of the third image.
Your new family member looks adorable - and hopefully Douglas or Mabel have now found out her name too.
We are having the biggest clearout so far and BHF picked up loads last weekend and on Tuesday the scrap metal man is calling as it's like 'Steptoes yard' here.
Hope all well with you all
