Hello everyone.

I've missed you all while I've been out of Blogland.

First of all precious visitors, Lavinia and Ethel arrived.  The teddy in the middle is a welcoming resident.

They always bring my sister with them.
When my sister arrives we hit the ground running and don't stop.

Why let a little snowstorm get in the way of a walk over the hill?  We were well wrapped up and had our snow poles and yaktrak ice grippers on our shoes.
I'm the one on the left.

We've been decorating and are on our third room.  Eagle eyes will see that Douglas is helping from the top of the ladder.
This room was the study/computer room.  It was quite a cosy room.  It's going to be light and bright.

And just to make sure we were kept busy, we've been doing a massive decluttering - books, fabrics, yarns, clothes and anything that looked at me in a funny way (teddies excepted).

* * * * * * *

At "Art Journal Journey"  Alison has chosen the super theme "Recycle and Collage".

I got out my bowl of home-made prompts

and these three came out.

I made a gentle little collage.

Seriously, I think it's rather sweet.
I can see a range of collage cards coming on.

I gave it a little twirl just for fun.

It looks quite Japanese, don't you think?

If you've visited, please do leave a comment, it means a lot to me.

I have stripped wallpaper before and I don't envy you in the least. Looks like yours will come off easier than mine, which was about five very old layers.

I think your darling collage is perfect for Alison's theme, and of course, the recycle part makes me smile. Yes, once you gave it a spin, it DOES look Japanese. Thanks for this first entry this month at Art Journal Journey.

So glad you had fun with your sister. Happy Easter, too, dear Sheila.

The teddy in the middle looks very happy about his newcomers Lavinia and Ethel!
You are very bold - not even a snowstorm detered you from a walk over the hill!
Wow, Douglas is very busy to make this cosy room going to be light and bright.
Your collage out of home-made prompts is very pretty! And this Japanese result is amazing!
Wish you a Happy Easter dear Sheila!

Nice to see you've been having lots of fun with your sister and furry guests - while leaving Douglas to strip the wall paper :) what a grand job he is doing. (I hope he has parachute or harness up there at the top that tall ladder).
The piece you created with your prompts turned out fabulous and the digital swirly piece does look very oriental - very clever - love it!
Enjoy your decorating :)
Happy Easter.... Gill xxx

i can´t believe how much snow you have/had, brave sisters going out for a walk! i do not envy you for the wallpaper action. but well, some leftovers might find their way into collages. the red one looks like a handbag for the female teddies to me:) but right, the inverted version is looking really japanese! and i spy a wonderful patchwork piece of small fabrics under the bowl:)
wishing you a good renovation time with the teddies and some joyful easter time now. xox, johanna

Wow- you do hit the ground running. But how fantasti to have someone help and motivate (or it would be motivate in my case) to get some decluttering and house beautification done. Did you paint or re-wallpaper that room? And I think having fun out in the snow is good when you have someone to go with. You sound like me with the ice walkers on my boots and a walking stick because sliding down in the snow is not fun. And loving your collage. Both the original (and that cool way you decide what to do) and your digital take. It does look Japanese for sure. If you celebrate Easter hope it is a happy one and maybe no snow either. And hope Lavinia and Ethel aren't too bossy when they come. Do they help you strip the wallpaper or just watch from the ladder? :) Hugs-Erika

Sweet teddies! They do look sweet, but with touch of a mischievous look as well. Am I wrong about that? You two are brave ones to go for a snow walk. I just get too cold. But I would bet it’s a pretty walk. Hello Sheila’s sister. Douglas has so many talents. Look at him balancing at the tip top of that ladder! And the ladder is has seen many a redecorating days. Memories of every one of them displayed. I love it. When you are expert wallpaper removers, please come to my house! I imagine this room is going to look quite differently soon. Your prompts look nice. But the patchwork they are sitting on is stealing the show for me. The prompts do blend well with it though. It never fails to amaze me how your original art changes appearance with a little twirl. Your collage made with the direction of your prompts is a delight of pink art. And then you twirl it. I do agree that it looks oriental. It’s fun to see how you put your prompts together into an art piece.

So good of Lavinia and Ethel to bring your sister along! That photo could be from Helsinki this morning, we got about 15 cm of snow last night and more is coming...

You've been busy and yet had the time to do art! Good for you!

Oh, I love to see you teddies and the ones of your sister as well!
It looks like having fun with your sister - even in the snow.
I love your home-made-promts and what you do with them very much
(Did you find this assignments (??) by yourself? I would like to make
such a bowl for myself…)
You have mastered this promts very well - what a nice collage came out!
And the quilt under your bowl is adorable!

Dear Sheila, I immediately wrote the new prompts on my list... I'll do it someday!!!
I like your simple collage in these red tones, but the mandala also looks very interesting!
Oh, now you've renovated too, and I'm sure the rooms look nice and fresh now. I'm sure you're happy to have done this job now.
warm regards - Ulrike

Your collage looks fabulous, Sheila, and yes, it does look Japanese in its kaleidoscope form.
I'm glad the teddies had a good time with you and your sister. Did they stay in the warm when you headed into the snow?
Good luck with the decorating! Jx

Fabulous post with the bears your sister and the fab art! Wow I love how unique the digital change is! Both wonderful and the digital would make an amazing greeting card. Also love love love the table cloth under your basket of prompts. Hope you will share the finished room. Those calico Flowers on the wallpaper are so in style on men's shirts of late! Thanks for sharing!

Hello Sheila, wow there is so much to see and read that I've forgotten already ... not really... love all your fabulous whimsical art, the fabrics are unique and I think the 2nd from the bottom is my favorite (a unique way of determining what you were going to do). Looks like fun walking in the snow (we do that a lot) and I think special when your sister visits. The redecorating looks like fun work. We are quite tired of winter, it does not want to leave here. Our beautiful snow melted in late February and then the cold came back and still here with unseasonably cold weather. This weekend we are expecting ice rain. I hope you are doing well, cheers :) xx ps.. the bears are cute :)

Love the Japanese type artwork at the very end.
Douglas is such a hard worker helping with the decorating, does health and safety allow for him to be on the ladder???? And lastly the snow looks great.
