My art group (of nine artists) is having an exhibition in January and I'm celebrating having everything finished.
Preview cards posted.
Press release released.
Artwork all framed, ready to go.

I was very pleased with the gallery preview card as it features one of my textiles.

If you are in the area, do come along.
Waterston House Gallery is a lovely gallery in a beautiful area of Scotland.

The textile piece is made of cotton painted with acrylic paints framed by commercially printed fabrics.
You can see the true colours better below.
It's called "Leaf on a twig".

For "Art Journal Journey" where the theme is "Let's Celebrate" I'm showing this piece which is going into the exhibition.

Of course we are also celebrating Christmas.  Christmas is a big thing in Orange Esmeralda's house, we start early in December.

Some people have just finished a jigsaw.

If you think they look a bit squiffy it's because they have been up all night partying.

Here's the tree

and here is one of Mr. Esmeralda's bead decorations.

Happy Christmas everybody!

First of all - congrats on having all ready for the exhibition!Well done!
The piece is beautiful and so is the invitation!
I would love to visit if I were in your region!
The tower is a beautiful piece as well- I live the little stitched stars and triangles.
The jigsaw looks very complex - a super motif - would be interesting how many parts it has. And I am thrilled about this mini woven bead decoration - what a lovely little tree ornament- oh my gosh - are you sure that Mister Esmeralda has made such a tiny thing? WOW!!! I
would like to express my total respect for his fine motor skills...unbelievable!
A Very Merry Christmas to all at Orange Esmeralda!!!
I had so much fun with " Let's Celebrate" in December!
Thanks a lot for the lovely theme and hosting dear Sheila!

The preview card certainly does justice to your piece. The exhibition will be marvellous. How on earth does a jigsaw get done with that lot watching (helping ?) wearing their Christmas ribbons as well. Love it, Awesome !!

I need to make one of those 'Star Trek' transporter 'thingies' so I could beam myself up to see the exibition Sheila. What a fantastic preview piece, I love the tower too and the colours. What a great exhibition its going to be!

They do look very colourful and handsome in their lovely attire despite looking a wee bit hungover - ha ha - I'm impressed that they managed to put all the jigsaw pieces in the correct place. Nice puzzle - but what an unsual shape.

Love your library! and lovely real tree :) and wow - amazing beaded decoration - well done Mr Esmeralda that is really lovely.
Merry Christmas to you both

First, congrats on the exhibition and your beautiful fabric entry. I hate to point this out, but did you notice the exhibition goes until Feb 14, 2017?

Do you live in a library? I wish I had those fabulous bookcases and those incredible books you have in your home. I also have tree envy. It is gorgeous. And of course, I am in awe of Mr. Esmeralda's tiny beaded tree. It is stunning.

Have a fabulous Christmas and a wonderful time with your family during this holiday season.

And of course, thanks SO much for being such a gracious and caring host during this month at Art Journal Journey. Your art is always fun to see and always so YOU! And thanks for sharing your art today at AJJ, too.

Wow, your fabric artwork is stunning! I love them both and the colours you used are beautiful 😁. The acrylic paint on the cotton fabric looks amazing. Many congratulations on your exhibition and completing all your artwork too! Now you have me wondering how many fabric art pieces you created for the exhibition, I do hope you will show more of your pieces on your blog and maybe some information as to how you created them 😁. The venue looks so beautiful with those wonderful views and all the light streaming in through those fabulous windows 😁. It looks like Douglas & company had fun doing that lovely jigsaw and your tree is stunning! I'm in awe of Mr. Esmeralda's beadwork, the little tree hanging is so intricate and perfect - I love it! Wishing you and yours a Happy Christmas filled with love and joy dear friend! J 😊 x

Oh! Great selection for the gallery preview card! Congrats on this honor. Your textile piece is fabulous! The colors and fabrics and processing are exciting. The Tower piece is just as wonderful. I love the melting lines and colors. A nice mix of painted and stitched details. I know you could not have completed that puzzle without all that great help. Teddies are so knowledgeable in a never ending array of topics. You can call on their assistance and know you will not be disappointed. Your Christmas tree is so artful! I absolutely love it! Mr. E’s beading skills are second to none. How sweet that ornament is. And the Esmeralda Library!...I am speechless. I love having this tiny peek into your vast collection of books.

Many good wishes for your group’s great success with the exhibition. Merry Christmas to you!

Wow, the MR. does beading, very nice.

Congratulations to this exhibition and that the gallery preview card features one of your textile artwork! I see a flame of a candle in it (maybe because in blogland is Christmas all around). It is a good idea for me to try painting with acrylics on cotton.
Your textile tower is gorgeous!
To finish such a jigsaw is reason enough to celebrate a night long party, I understand these people!
The tree is beautiful - but first of all I saw this library (oh, what a great wish to have such one!)
BUT - the eyecatcher is --- Mr. Esmeralda's bead decoration!!
Wish you all happy holidays and a wonderful new year 2018!
love Rike

That is a reason to celebrate Sheila! Your quilting is quite beautiful and very inspired. I am happy you used some of your whimsical art in one of your quilts too. I hope you take some photos of your exhibit, and I hope it was a fabulous Christmas. Santa sure sounds like he knows what's he's doing. Mr. Esmerelda's bead decoration is gorgeous too. Happy belated Christmas and happy new year too. Hugs-Erika
