BIRD IN A HURRY

Hello everybody.

One of my favourite challenges is Moo-Mania which is asking for art on the theme "Automobiles, cars and vehicles".

Sparkles, my bird friend, is in a hurry, racing through Spooky forest.
I wonder where he is going?  Any ideas?

Real Life here is pretty manic just now, and I can empathise with a bird in a hurry, so I am also linking to Elke's challenge at "Art Journal Journey" to make art on the theme "Landscapes of the Soul".

What an absolutely adorable little bird. I can understand trying to catch yourself coming and going.. Your darling Sparkles is doing a great job getting wherever it is headed. I also like that the rabbits are silently waiting for Sparkles to pass by. This is a fantasy come true, dear Sheila.

This is a wonderful, sweet painting. I think the bird is hurrying home for his dinner and trying to get there before his big brother who is having to fly.

This is sweet, and that forest doesn't look spooky at all, it looks inviting! Maybe I'm a ghost... :D

This page really made me smile Sheila. The whole idea of a bird in hurry really made me think, but I guess they must have times they want to get out of the way of things quickly too. But the bird in the wagon car is so much FUN! Glad you're back with some of your fun art. Hugs Erika

She's off to the fun-fair, to the magic castle, flying trapeze, and hall of ghosts of course !! She'll pal up with her mate Douglas the Fairy. Super combination of paint & computer as always. Love it, Awesome !!

I hope like crazy that Sparkles is hurrying to my house to help me with all this sorting purging and donating! I could use the help and he looks like he’d be a great little helper. His means of transportation is so delightful and looks quite efficient. The spooky forest does appear to be a bit daunting but I have a feeling that it might not be so if one were to get to know it. The bunnies don’t look frightened to be there. The one tree is quite inviting and there are pretty flowers growing. I love those spooky trees!

Your art is always so unique, so pleasant and funny. I love the spooky forrest, here are all leaves already flown away...
I suppose, your little bird is on the way to find a dry and warm place for the coming winter... Ulrike

I love your sense of imagination and how you get my imagination going, too, through your adorable art! Since yesterday was Friday the 13th, I think Sparkles (and his rabbit and bird friends are going to join him) is going to a "Haunted Hay Ride" when he gets through the spooky woods!!!!

Rike said...

Sparkles looks a little disappointed about his vehicle, I guess he wants to go faster through this Spooky forest, huh! The watching rabbits are wondering why the bird does not fly, because then Sparkles would be faster. The flying bird on the right is coming in a hurry to tell that circumstance to Sparkles.
What a fabulous scenery, I love it!

What a super scene Sheila! Sparkles looks a little scared, but also happy to go by car. Love the trees!
So creative as usual!

Your colourful birdies are ace! - you make me want to go and get some colours out, I usually stick with seaside colours (blues, greys, sand) - but this looks like so much fun!

Really grand and filled with magic it seems. Great work indeed. Greetings!

Your whimsical art is so much fun, I love your bird in a hurry... maybe he is looking for the seaside? We are enjoying living close to water (it takes about 10 minutes to walk to it). Life is still not completely 'normal' but it will be eventually :) Take good care xx

Isn't Sparkles, your bird friend cute!
I love this.
Sorry to read that Real Life is pretty manic at the moment, but it does seem to happen to us all from time to time.

Hopefully you may get a chance to relax a while ... could I make you a cuppa?

All the best Jan

Oh I LOVE your pictures and your funny ideas so much! And I love it to see this pretty green bird sucking along the road through Spooky forest in it's very cool racing vehicle. This is exactly a picture that shows how I feel in the morning when I drive to work. I also always ask myself where am I going! Haha ... I will color print this picture and will decorate my desk at work with it. I'm sure it will inspire and motivate me every morning when I arrive there :)

Life has been pretty manic my end as well. I am now enjoying catching up!
Sparkles certainly does look in a hurry, hopefully going to find somewhere both peaceful and restful and away from the daily stresses of the spooky forest. I love those teal trees, though!
Thanks for all your comments - always appreciated. Jx
P.S. I am way behind with Wanderlust, but hoping to pick it up again soon.

Your artwork and stories always make me smile Sheila - have you ever written and illustrated books?
I don't know what I love the most - the birds probably as I am always drawn to them.

There is so much more to this picture than at first glance, I love the tree, the flowers and the stars as well as the fact it is a brilliant composition. I agree with Gibby perhaps you should consider illustrating children's books.
