Hello everyone.
I've been on holiday in a cottage with no wifi, no phone reception and no radio.
It was very relaxing.

At "Art Journal Journey" the theme chosen by Gill is "Elegance and Grunge".

I've always been fascinated by the quote
"In the country of the blind the one-eyed man is king"
and I hope you will agree that the one-eyed gardener with his very elegant hat and stylish outfit is the king of his garden.

I'm also entering this into a new interesting challenge called "Digitally made" where they are asking us to make a purely digital art piece.
Apart from the butterflies this was painted using the mouse and the digital colours.
The butterflies were painted with "real" paints and digitally transferred, and the text was printed using Photoshop.

I hope you had a good time while I was away, and I'm looking forward to visiting you again.

He does have a big head of hair but I love the colour. Hope the rabbit appreciates the flower and doesn't eat it

Oh, you've been in Paradise! That makes so good, cut the connection.

I believe he's the king, although that rabbit looks like it would want to challenge the crown!

Now that sounds like a great get away. And you came back very inspired Sheila. Your pieces are always so much fun! I like the one eyed gardener. I wonder how he lost his eye? Hopefully he's not a pirate in disguise. :) Hugs-Erika

SO good to see you posting again. I adore this beauty because you are right about the one eyed king. Only you could create something this unique and unusual, and have it turn out so clever and adorable.

I am such a cut and paste person, that your making use of digital art shows how very clever you are. I love your one eyed gardener king, but most of all your black rabbit.

Welcome home, dear Sheila.

Some delightful Sheila art is just what I need to see at the end of my day! A one-eyed Gardner with a black rabbit can only come from your creative mind. And quite stylish he is too. Wonderful clever flower design. And pretty butterflies. Your characters though are always so unique as well as thoughtful and caring. It's obvious black rabbit did not want to be left out of the picture. Or is he just photobombing.

Yes, only without internet and telephone a vacation is really nice and relaxing!
But I've already missed you, and I'm looking forward to a new picture of you!
I had to laugh so much about your PC mouse creation with the pink-colored hat and the very elegant attitude!
Is the flower probably for the black monster?

I am not sure why, but your words in this piece made me smile. It is charming and yes, an interesting saying.

So glad you had a relaxing time away. I always note how much more I get done in a day when the power goes out. And yes, relaxing too.

Oh, this is gorgeous! If you had not mentioned ii, I thought all is hand painted! But digitally made (the most) - I adore!
I like the quote - and yes, the one-eyed gardener is standing like a king! Very nice, that he gives a flower to his friend the black rabbit!
Cool, how you reflected the butterfly and changed colors :)
