Mr. No-reply-blogger

Along with painting and drawing art journals, I also have art textile journals.   These are used to record fabric experiments and combinations, little pieces of embroidery and so on including

playing with dyed fabrics,

 ideas for fabric combinations,

embroidery samples

and patchwork ideas.

I call it painting with fabric and thread.

At  "Art Journal Journey" Susi is asking us to make collages with no wings, leaves or faces.

Have you ever met Mr. No-reply-blogger?
When you leave a comment on my blog I get an email.
Normally I will then visit your blog and/or reply to the email BUT if you do not have an email address on your blog then my friendly reply will go (without any warning) to Mr. No-reply-blogger and he will put it in his sack.  Sometimes I notice this in time and sometimes I don't.

Here, for "Art Journal Journey"  is Mr. No-reply-blogger with his bottomless sack of emails intended for someone else.
He is a very bad boy.
He is wearing a mask of course.

Mr. N. is made from dyed silks, coloured foils, sweetie papers and coloured metal sheets. The frame is made from a backing paper used to try out colours, stamping etc.

and put into Photo-edit to be colour-altered.

Beware of Mr. No-reply-blogger.  He loves to steal other people's emails.

So that's what he looks like! I have wondered for so long. I'm feeling just like everyone else. What fun your post is today and so informative. So many of us are familiar with Mr. No-reply-blogger and his disappointing antics with emails and comments. Your fabric journal entries are as delightful as your intended and completed art pieces. I suppose you're going to tell me that your machine does most of the work (just as your magic pens do). I can't even choose a favorite here. They are all equally artistic and inspiring. I also love how your test paper changes when you color edit them.

I am in awe of your dyed fabric. I am a fanatic about dyeing my own fabric, so this was simply wonderful. I adore the pieces you put together and the wonderful sewing you accomplished. I wish I had a machine that had feed dogs that dropped, but they don't even know how to bark!

I'm a no reply blogger. You would NOT want me to reply because I've been told my e-mail spits out spam to your e-mail. So I never get messages via e-mail and I never use it. But I adore Mr. N. He's just what blogger should order!

Oh, I envy people who can sew! I'm so handicapped with the sewing machine, it hates me! And likewise.

Your art makes me happy.

Oh Sheila, what an interesting post! Such great art textile journals, your pages are wonderful! Fabulous idea to give the Mr. No-reply-blogger a beautiful(!) face, with a mask and no bottom - yes I know him, he does not collect mails but let them flow anywhere. The frame is gorgeous! I love your playing with your try-out-backing-paper - another great piece of art!

Your fabric artwork is gorgeous! I love the fabric combinations piece - you definately have an eye for colours and patterns :-). The backing paper is fabulous too, I always try out stamps and colours before I use them and love the results you get from just randomly trying them out :-). Wonderful! Wishing you a great week! Beautiful! I used to sew and have done a little embroidery, but I've never done patchwork, so I'm impressed. Blessings, my friend!

Ha, ha, your no-reply blogger sack is such a creative, funny idea!
So wonderful, bright colors that make me think of India - a bit bollywood style - I love this email bag, a fantastic fabric collage!
But great is also the cubist fabric work with the beads on the dark background! Very nice things you worked here, dear Sheila.

What a cocktail of colour and dazzle! Your stitching art is full of funk and Esmeralda style, I love your different patchwork adventures and how you experiment with all you do, turning it magically around. What an original piece Mr no reply is, this one really makes me smile, I'm always smiling away here with the fun of it all and you're great words that make your art come to life! Beautiful, I love those contrasting colours in Mr No reply, of light green and pink and all the pieces together, so rich and full of textures, just what I love! What a great frame too and so creatively made, a super post!

One thing i enjoyed about it is seeing how similar your pieces are to your digital and hand done art, your style carries through.
you make me want to stitch..... but on this rainy day i think i will paint.
