At this time of year our vegetable garden is in full and wonderful production and Douglas has some gardening duties to perform including

looking beautiful among the flowers

pulling the rhubarb for tea

and checking to see if the broccoli is ready.

Our garden is full of the wonders of Nature.

As well as flowers and vegetables and trees and shrubs, there are many birds and their babies  - and  - drumroll - the artistic fox.

You may remember the fox came along and rearranged some of the sculptures on our new Zen garden.

I saw him again last week and here he is -

He was painted with watercolours especially for the challenge at "Art Journal Journey" where Gill has chosen the theme "Nature's Wonders".

Keep an eye open - he may be coming along to rearrange your garden too.

Fun photos, glad Douglas keeps on eye on everything. Lovely idea with the colourful fox, we don't seem to have that variety here in Rhineland! Thanks for linking to us at AJJ, hugs, Valerie

I can most certainly see why Mr. Fox thinks he's a much better designer than yourself. Why, just look at him in all his magnificent self! He's so all that! Look how he decorates himself with specially picked flowers. And his legs are marvelous dotted and striped. You get the most wonderful characters roaming in and out of your life. Our foxes in the USA are so plain looking compared. I really love your greenery and blooms in the foreground! It always seems the grass is greener on your side of the fence. LoL. I had not realized that Douglas was so tiny! It must be his larger than life personality. I imagine your veggies don't dare not do well under his supervision. How is he at housekeeping? Can he dare the dust away? This is a delightful Sheila art and life fix for me this morning.

Ah Sheila, I see you finally caught the artistic fox on paper. He did a number to your zen garden, but now he's running amok everywhere. He's certainly the most colorful fox I've seen.

Douglas is a genuine cutie. Guess I've never seen him before, but he seems to be a great helper, which is just what you need to harvest all that rhubarb and broccoli.

Oh, your Douglas Bear is so tiny - but he obviously feels very comfortable among the flowers and vegetables. As funny as it sits on the rhubarb - a great photo idea!
.. And I love your new watercolor painting, it is the most beautiful fox, I have seen so far. He will certainly go out to find a woman ... In this colorful stockings no woman can resist!
The green-pink colors on top of the picture are wonderful and immediately I must think of rhubarb ! There are natural-wonders-colours! Ulrike

I see Douglas is very busy (and pretty). So much to do and I think for you as well.
The fox is so cute and here he seems to rearrange the flowers in their bed. Did he do that in your garden as well?
And is drumroll his name?

So I left a comment here, from my tablet...but was worried it disappeared. Sure enough it's gone! Glad I came back! I love how festive Douglas is...and how he generously guided us through your beautiful garden luring us in with those gorgeous flowers and yummy rhubarb!! Then presenting a whimsical surprise at the the end! The sneaking fox told me that Douglas was the instigator of all the shenanigans and that we shouldn't be fooled by the pretty face and cool outfit!!!! Always a fun visit! I must send you an article about the traveling will get a kick out of it, as will Douglas!

Especially on the broccoli Douglas shows us how tiny he is! The artistic fox would not see him. Beautiful watercolor-painting!

Your garden looks really productive because those veggies are looking gorgeous. My garden is really producing now too and it is very exciting. I haven't had so many green peppers for several years. And I love your piece today. Mr. Foxy looks like he is out checking out the garden, not for veggies but for any garden raiders perhaps. Hope all is well with you. Hugs-Erika

Well, Douglas certainly achieved his aim. He clearly has a great sense of fashion too! Your flowers & produce look delicious, Sheila.
Foxes can be a real nuisance, but how could anyone not fall in love with your cheerful chappy? He's fabulous and obviously right at home in that garden. Jx

What a lovely selection of pictures! I hope they don't go to Douglas's head! And that's a really cute fox --- although I wonder if his mother had an affair with a stegosaurus??
