DEER IN THE SNOW

My friend Tammie, at "Beauty Flows", has a drawing challenge this weekend, the theme is "Deer".
If you haven't discovered Tammie's  blog yet, do go and have a look.

Happily, "Try it on Tuesday", the inspiring fortnightly challenge with such talented designers, has the theme "Create a Scene".

* * * * * * *

"Deer"? - I thought I could draw a deer, no bother, maybe a little fawn.
Ten "deers" later ....................  I gave up.

But we can't always just give up, can we?

It was painted with watercolour pens, acrylic pens and coloured pencils, and measures 4 x 3½  inches.

I'm very grateful to Tammie as I have now solved one of the perennial questions - what design to create for my Christmas cards.

Hope you like my little deer in the snow.

Ugh...drawing! If I don't even start, then I don't have to give up. LoL Your drawing is always so unique. I can't even imagine you giving up. You always make it seem easy peasy. Your deer in the snow scene depicts peace and harmony...as we wish this troubled world could come to. But I have to say, no photo editing? It doesn't need any, of course, but this is rare from you. I do love your color and vibrancy editing skills. They make such a strong statement with your art.

What a loveley deer!! It looks charming and I think it is happy that there are some flowers in the snow. I like the castle in the background as well. And good that you have found your design for the christmas cards! I'm thinking about that for some times as well....

First of all: I LOVE your new blog header! It's amazing! And secondly I enjoyed your little story about how you created the beautiful scenery so much! "Ten deers later" made me laugh, but I understand very well what was going on on your desk. It's sometimes really tricky to get things on paper but every creature fits perfectly in this gorgeous landscape now!

Dear Sheila, haha 20 deers later ;) So love your blue deer! He looks so kind and graceful! I also like that it looks like the castle and the clouds are in the tree (don´t know if willed ;) and awww there is a door! I am sure it is deer´t magical home behind it...so curious how he lives ;) Thank you for another lil world that filles my imagination and make me happy! http://piaromsartjournaling.blogspot.de

I love the way you have managed to capture the feeling of winter without it feeling cold. The little deer is so sweet but I especially like the tall narrow house with the enormously tall door x,

Hope I will receive 1 of the Christmas cards. This is so sweet, using lovely pastel colours gives a feeling of the stillness after snow has fallen. The blue deer looks so gentle and the dipped horizon line is very clever. As usual this friend is in awe.

I'd hate to see the other nine "deers" because this one is spectacular. Your charming deer looks so gentle. I'm sure glad there were no hunters hiding behind that tree in your lovely scene.

well, you are too critical with yourself... i love the Little turquoise deer in scotland (obviously, as there are Castles and ruins everywhere;))
