BE CAREFUL CROSSING THE ROAD

How many times have you said this or heard this -
"Be careful crossing the road".

I would have done well to heed this advice as I've had several near misses, but I've got a good Guardian Angel.

I drew it in two parts, top and bottom, then inserted the quote with photo-editing.

It was painted with pens, watercolour pens and watercolours and measures roughly 7 x 7 inches.

Linking to "Art Journal Journey", theme "Favourite poems and quotes" and
"Paint Party Friday".

Sheila you have such a unique style and perspective.
This is so fun and colorful and that certainly is a familiar phrase!
Interestingly enough this piece measures 7x7" on our big screen so I am seeing it for 'real' sort of ;-)

What a fun piece and the quote is as old as motor cars, lol. Well probably as old as the wheel, perhaps ;) I wonder how children would perceive the message in this format. :o))

My Dad was very big on road safety, I was never ever allowed to cross before the green man was on :-P I love your painting :-)

Having a logical brain is annoying at times. Like when it's trying to figure out who is trying to cross the road. Could it be the rolling flower? Or has the thing crossing the road not yet even arrived in the scene? All the while wondering this, I am enjoying the whimsical creatures and objects. Yes, Mo, wouldn't traffic lights such as this be delightful. And who wouldn't mind sitting waiting and watching as that migical train passes along. And that tree...is a whole nother story all it's own. Indeed I love your imagination!

Have a happy evening, dear Sheila xx

This is wonderful and great advice! What mother has told their child this! When my daughter traveled to London everyone warned her to be EXTRA careful crossing the road or stepping on the sidewalk. She was shocked at how scary the traffic was... Would this be such a cute illustration and warning in a child's book!! Love the whimsy!

I wonder why your cute little tree hast just one ear. Perhaps that's the reason why your lovely street light is looking for it?
