A LITTLE TREE

An artist friend M. gave me a present of some small canvases, small being 4 x 4 inches.

This is how I made the picture above.

I collaged all over one canvas with prints of my own painted papers

and added a tree in an arch

to make this.

Then I played with it in Photoshop for many hours and my two favourites were the one you saw at the start and this second colourway below.

I'll use these designs to make cards.

I'm linking to "Mix it Monthly" which has the theme "Colourblocking".

An original art work *and' digital cards - I like. And a great use for scraps of painted paper.

Sheila I've been going back and forth really enjoying these beautiful works, stunning with the colours and whole composition. I love all your coloured painted papers they are each one so beautiful and bright, that little tree goes so well in the middle of it all. Your favourites are special because they have a more peaceful effect for me, but the original is full of joy and spark, they are all fabulous in their own way! I can feel nature and the outdoors so much in these, quite my favourites!

I love that first colorway the most. But all of them are eye candy. I remember seeing on your worktable last time a few of your painted papers and the bits chopped out of them that you used in another artwork. I get that because I use scrapbook papers that way. But having your own painted works to use makes your art piece 100% Sheilaart. I like that! A sweet piece this is.

Sheila, I think your patchwork is superb. Your points and joins are so perfect and your use of colours is so uplifting that I think I had better get on that sewing machine and try to get away from being boring with my choices.
