WEATHER REPORTS

Hello friends.
I've been away for a week on a very happy family holiday with lots of creativity, good food, companionship and walking in the beautiful English countryside.

* * * * *

The theme at "Art Journal Journey" this month is "Inspired by the Masters".

Alan Fletcher was a graphic designer with an amazing ability to capture a word, a phrase or an idea in a small illustration, using a skillful economy of line and colour.

A few of his designs are on a Pinterest site here
and many others are here.

I gave myself three imaginary illustration assignments inspired by his technique, two to accompany newspaper articles on the weather and one advert for woolly jumpers.

I hope you enjoyed my foray into minimalist graphic illustration and thanks for visiting.

Ah, here you are. I've been expecting you. What imaginative fun your illustrations are. Totally love the windy day. No actual words are needy to read that weather report. And the snowy day...while we bundle up for those, nature must take it as it comes. Love the stack of woolly jumpers too. What color shall today be?. Nicely done my friend. (In a newly revamped studio?)

Fun. Our wind would bend some trees today and it's SO cold 20F. I need those wooly jumpers. Popping in, then moving to the new house this weekend which is not done and won't be for some time, but need to not move in snow. xox

Your illustration of a windy day made me laughing so much! It looks great! Also the woolly jumpers are so funny as well as the snowflakes around your cute little flowers. I assume you really had relaxing days as you spread so much humour now :)

What fun your post was today, Sheila! And you are right. It makes sense to copy the painting without cutting it up first - just to be on the safe side.
