TWO VERY SMALL PAINTINGS AND THE GAME OF "BOUNCE TREE"

The theme at "Art Journal Journey" is "Inspired by the Masters" and, as in my previous post, I took the minimalism of the work of the graphic illustrator Alan Fletcher for my inspiration.

I gave myself the imaginary task of illustrating a magazine article on trees.

* * * * *

This tree was drawn and painted with Derwent Inktense pencils.  These are coloured pencils but when mixed with water they become like vibrant inks and unlike watercolour pencils should be water-resistant when dry (that's what the manufacturer says).

This little tree and landscape was drawn with watercolour, black and silver pens.

"Moo Mania" is asking for "Trees".  This challenge now allows any size of artwork, but I enjoy painting these very small artworks to the specific small size.

This is an actual Moo painted with watercolour pens.  The background was left white and filled with pink using Photoshop.
It measures exactly 2.8 x 1.1 inches, the normal size for a Moo.

The little birds look a bit manic, but don't worry, they are playing a game called "Bounce Tree".  They do have bodies and wings but you can't see them as they are hidden behind their heads and this could be part of their game.

I adore this Moo with your playing birds Sheila and the two other TREE paintings are just brilliant in my mind!
Yes you are right.. this Derwent pencils are so cool.. I bought 7 different colors as single sticks this summer as I visited a big craft store and tried them out.. so much more vibrant than all my other watercolor pencils..and they are really permanent..I tried ist out..if you go over with gel or another waterbased medium they really don't smear! I hope that I can buy more single sticks when I visit the big craft store the next time!
The ART bars from derwent must also be great... but I have such a great fantastic sortiment of hard pastel sticks 48 in a wooden box from a good austrian brand...
the best oilpastels are the Sennelier..oh gosh ...I bought a little sortiment of soft pastels and oilpastels this summer as well..oh gosh how fab! I remember that you also have Sennelier brand ...

I so love all this supplies... that's for me like for other woman perfumes or clothes!
Thank you for joining both of the Challenges dear Sheila!♥♥♥
You made me really happy!
Have a great rest of the Sunday!

My dear Mrs. Esmeralda, the new banner is a fun surprise. I got caught up in all its delight and almost forgot the post. LoL I'll bet you might have found those banner creatures in your adorable trees. I have another site searching for the seeds so that I might be able to plant those great trees in my yard! I also adore the games you dream up for your unique creatures and creations. With each of your posts I take away a lesson in imagination.

I have NO idea why I don't visit you more often, Sheila. You always make me laugh and smile.

I've heard of these pencils, but never seen one. They sound so amazing. I really LOVE the first painting the best, but of course, the bouncing birds are so cute, one can't help but laugh at their playfulness.
