WHERE IS SPRING?

The theme at the "Soartful" challenge this month is "Signs of Spring".

There are few signs of spring here.
For six days now we have been shrouded in bone-chilling damp mist.
The garden is a quagmire.

But ever hopeful, I look forward to the flowers bursting out of the earth with joy and the leaves from the trees appearing with their new fresh colours.

This was painted with oil pastels and watercolours.
The main picture measures approximately 8 x 9 inches.
The border was initially painted in the same way and then photo-edited to make the pattern.

The theme at "Art Journal Journey" this month is "Moments of Happiness".
When the flowers, trees and vegetables start their growth in the Spring - what a lovely, happy time it is.

I hope you all have a happy Spring.

Sheila, this is wonderful! It's like a peek through an ornate gate at a beautiful secret garden. I love the vivid colors. Cool photo editing for the border. I hope the sun comes through for you soon.

Well you certainly have spring in abundance in your picture if not your garden. Spring has sprung here and everything is bursting open to life, you've captured that in your picture. Again such fresh, clear colours and design

When the weather is so unco-operative, and just won't believe it is spring, all we can think of are the flowers we hope to see. Your little blue flower looks like a tiny embroidery done in silks - the simplicity is so pretty.
But your shot of colour in the pastel is so invigorating, I love your imagination and your combinations of colour. This is gorgeous, and the border works so well. I must look up the app you suggested, it does wonders (with your help!).

Your spring picture is an explosion of colors - probably you did it to compensate the grey outside ?? I love those little flowers that look like just awake and being so curious to see the world and how it changed over the wintertime.

I love your joyful anticipation of spring, the colours are so beautiful in the picture, in contrast to the drab greys of the fog- shrouded drenched ground! Roll on spring! I love the symmetry of the orange and purple frieze, and the window to the spring flowers! And the lovely purple, red and yellow flowers. Hugs!
