THE STORY OF BANDIT, THE ORANGE CAT

Elizabeth at the "Altered Book Lover" blog has lots of good ideas, and one of them is that we find an old blogpost we like and repost it on the 2nd of the month.  This is a great idea, as there is so much art and inspiration lost in the depths of blogland, never to be seen again.

So here is an old blogpost that I've always had a great affection for.

Some of you will have seen it and I hope you enjoy it again.
If you haven't seen it, please enjoy it for the first time.

And I hope that artists from "Paint Party Friday" won't mind seeing an old blogpost.

THE STORY OF BANDIT, THE ORANGE CAT

Bandit, the Orange Cat, used to wonder what it would be like to be a pretty little kitten, one that old ladies would stroke and say "Nice kitty!", a kitten like Fluffie.

Then one day he saw that the flowers were waving to him

and the birds were coming down to say "Hello, Bandit!".

Even the sun was smiling to see him.

And Bandit thought -

It's not how you look that matters.
It's how you live your life.

Be kind.
Be generous.
Be a good cat.

  5. Excellent message! And once you realize that, you find yourself living in a bright, happy, colorful world...like Bandit has discovered. I love all the bright happy color here. Bandit is so adorable in his uniqueness. And I always love your clever, creative foliage. As you say, so much art gets forgotten...I didn't remember this piece.

  9. Yes, Sheila, I'm so new to your blog I've never seen Bandit before, either. You and I seem to have a deep love of cats. Bandit is not only beautiful in appearance, but in his outlook on life, too. What a uniquely wonderful approach to life, and one that not only applies to Bandit, but all of us as well.

Thanks for sharing Bandit, your gorgeous birds, colorful flowers, and eye popping trees for Second on the 2nd. SO glad you posted this, because the meaning of the story should NEVER be forgotten!

  16. Another bright original art work. The cat looks great all dolled up. Love the ribbons on its ears although any cat I have loved would be hiding under the table if I tried to do that to it. Made me smil;e on this rather dank morning Thanks

  28. Bandit still looks very fierce, he has more about him than fluffy but I still like fluffy however bandit is much more ethnic especially with his tail and stripy legs
