DARK RABBIT

Giggles at the wonderful blog "Happy Tiler" often shows the most amazing, complex and colourful digital art, art made by drawing on the screen.  I was astonished when Giggles told me that she uses the free photo-editing program "Paint" provided by Windows.
I was instantly on to "Paint" to give it a try.

Say hello to Petal.
Petal loves her sister and they are both very happy together, but she sometimes wishes she was beautiful like her sister.

And here is Floral, the beautiful sister.

How do we recognise beauty?
Is beauty really in the eye of the beholder?

And now prepare to meet DARK RABBIT!
Are you ready?..................................

Hahahahaha!

I had great fun playing with Windows Paint.

If you have Microsoft Windows you probably also have "Paint"You use the mouse to choose the options and to paint.

  1. Send dark rabbit over here, we have Mr. Smudge who looks like a lump of coal dust. I think they would be fast friends! Too adorable. xox

  4. Boy do I love all these bright vibrant colors on the black background! Yes, Floral is the more beautiful sister, but we have not been witness to her personality. If she's a nasty personality, her beauty will not help her to stay beautiful. Beauty is only skin deep. I have a feeling that Petal is most likely the more beautiful sister. Dark rabbit has a mystery all his own. What fun you've been having!

  9. I knew Paint was on my computer, but I've never worked with it. After seeing Dark Rabbit, Petal, and Floral, I might have to try it. I'll probably not do as well, or turn out so hilarious, though. This was an incredible first attempt, and a very good one, too!

  17. I think beauty is defined by the heart. One of my favourite films is Shallow Hal.
The colours for Petal and Floral are fab. I love Floral's tree.
    Dark rabbit is hilarious!
Hope you stay cosy. We've had sleet and wild winds this evening, with temps dipping below zero now. Got the heating up and blankets out. Have a great weekend Shelia. :D

  19. Dark rabbit was downright spooky! Your art today is such fun. We need to embrace the whimsey often. Thanks for commenting on my pumpkin art. The background was a re-do. I tried to fix it in class and failed. I brought it home, watered it down and added more watercolors and came up with a background I love.

  21. I have to admit I beamed from ear to ear when I met with your whimsical fun characters!! I started to study them when you asked that question... and it's funny the one sister seems a bit more moody than the other where as one is bright and bubbly! Honesty I once met a person who by all means was not blessed with the best features, my initial thought was oh dear she is so homely. Now I can't believe I ever thought that...she is so beautiful in spirit and personality...She lights up the room with her beautiful soul that shines from the inside out! Wonderful happy art as always!! Thanks for the link too! Sounds like it has opened an outlet for others!! Thanks for sharing!

    Hugs Giggles

  27. so cute, i even love the name petals.
beauty is in interesting thing. I think it would be good to have different names for physical beauty and inner beauty.
even though the two support one another.

each piece made me smile, so fun.

  28. I think Petal could be just as beautiful as her sister if she would just look a bit friendlier ;-) So fun you did all this in Paint, gotta try it out! Thanks for the tip!

  29. I think both Petal and Floral are beautiful in their own unique ways. I believe true beauty comes from within, because even the most physically beautiful people are ugly if their heart is not in the right place. Blessings, my friend!

  30. Yes, we've had Paint for a long time. Tim uses it for his stuff but we also use Xara. Not free, but it was a gift from a friend. Loved your work. I know I say this a lot but you have much talent. Are you published anywhere in books? Or if you aren't, is it something that interests you?

  31. I think the rabbit is scary. Is he going to appear again. I feel he is looking for his own series. I tried the Paint but found it very difficult to control the lines so once again in awe if your talent. The first sister has her nose pressed against a window just waiting to emerge as the second drawing.
