PATCHWORK WINDOW

I've become fascinated by the process of creating new art from old.

Here are this week's volunteers for a makeover.

A little flower from one of my journals.

A background painting which was "too good to use".

Part of a collage where the flower was cut from a paper napkin.

A Saturday journal page written in July 2010.

All patchworked together to make the final piece..........

When I sit at my desk, looking out of the window I can see the bright flowers in the garden, many of them pinks and reds, so I am linking to
"Art Journal Journey" where the current theme is "Through My Window".

Also linking to
"Mix it Monthly" where the theme is "Mixed Media Flowers"
 and to
"Paint Party Friday" where friends share what they have made the previous week.

  1. That's great, Sheila!! Wonderful the way you used old art pieces. And I'm a bit surprised about the dark background... I love that, you know - but the people always say to my pictures "too dark" or something like that. So I'm very pleased to see a dark background somewhere else :)
And I really would like to know how you do your writing like that. I can't believe that you write in that way into jour journal, I think you do a digitally overwork - but how do you do that???

    Love, Beate

PS. The flower seems to be very happy, I read it was a cut out of a paper napkin but it looks like a flower being happy and growing in your hospital bed (is that the right word??)

  13. your Patchwork journaling is so appealing! i love how you mixed all the elements. it is always so mysterious to see script that is not legible any more... and i do confess i hoard napkins from everywhere i´m invited - i rather don´t clean my lips than spoil the napkin;)

  22. I see a garden at midnight. And how beautiful it looks. The flowers and night creatures all seem to glow and smile at the moon. Look! Squiggly writing! **lots of smiling here** My talented techy friend, I love how you've combined several previous art bits for a new art piece. I love the bright colors on black. I'd bet you had a fun time creating this beauty.
