WELCOMING ANGEL

In my previous post, Angel Cat was prowling the skies.

Some kind ladies were concerned that he was sad or lonely but now all is well.

Angel Lady has always wanted an Angel Kitten and is now welcoming Angel Cat into her celestial home.
Whether that is a good idea or not, we will maybe find out later.

One of the joys of photo-editing (for me) is that I can use an older painting which is not quite complete and combine it with new or other older painted work.

"Welcoming Angel" was created using an oil pastel and textile dye painting

and a lady, painted with water colour pens, extracted from another artwork.

The colours were changed with Photo-shop,
the lady was given a glow and a pair of wings (although she wouldn't give up her high heels)
and the whole piece was given a cloudy edging and some heavenly stars using the free on-line editor Tuxpi.

ANGEL LADY WELCOMES ANGEL CAT

Linking to
"Art Journal Journey", theme "Things with Wings", although Angel Lady isn't exactly a Thing,
and
"Mix it Monthly", theme "Angels/Saints".
"Paint Party Friday" this week has an optional theme of a self portrait.  Maybe one day I'll look like this?

  2. Oh Sheila, I love your imagination, and how kind you are to your creations! Angel Cat did not look happy, but with such a welcome to the Celestial Home from Angel Lady he will find a safe haven, a place to call home. Your cloudy edging and twinkly stars are most effective, and I like the way the Angel Lady has her arms outstretched to greet Angel Cat! I look forwards to the next instalments. Hugs xx

  5. Oh, it's a beautiful scene you have created here! It's so wonderful what you have done with this "old" pictures to get a welcome for your angel cat. I love the angel with her high heels and wings and the colors, so much green and the contrast with the purple and red and all those little shining stars.
And I wonder if you will show us how they meet at the door to heaven or behind or perhaps in front of it....

  15. What an amazing story, Sheila! I always love your drawing but I think this is one of my favorites... so different and original scene. Creative idea the high heels!
(I always follow you, but I have replaced my photo today, sometimes I had problems with this).

  41. Well, now I see why I thought you'd been doing too much gardening. I saw angel cat in the thumbnail and thought it was the same post. But now I come to see your new post, scroll a bit farther in the end and here we have a new work I totally missed! How lucky for angel cat to have found such an angelic home. I can never get enough of your pastels paintings. I love the feathery, fuzzy edges of the colors. And then there are the fabulous vivid colors themselves. Wonderful little glowing star spots too! A girl's got to have her heels!
