A BIG BIRD FLIES IN FOR A DRINK

I tried to paint this as one picture, but it didn't work out, so I painted each image separately, including the background, assembled them in Photoshop and, while I was there, gave it a watercolour filter.

It was made with watercolour paints, coloured and metallic pencils, stamping and photo-editing.

  3. That's wonderful Sheila! The way the bird is looking into the flower-bowl. The orange flower is looking for the bird and the other one looks at the orange flower wondering what she is doing. (She seems to have a question mark in her eyes) I love the composition and the washed out colors.

  6. Hello Sheila love your big bird as he just looks exactly as if he has flown in, but I agree the flowers look as if they are dancing. And the poor wee spider hanging on for dear life .....your imagination is incredible to keep producing these wonderful works of art

I call your new bird: boat-bird, because its body reminds me to a boat...

  9. Love this watercolor look. Do you automatically get those fabulous squiggly lines when painting with watercolors? I really like that effect. I've read all the previous comments and it seems having this big bird fly in for a drink is an event to be celebrated. This quaint little whimsical town has built the giant bird bath just so this big beautiful bird will stop in for a drink and the adorable residents gather to watch. Love how your imagination makes our imagination come to life!
