TEDDY HAT

Visitors have been staying at Orange Esmeralda's house, visitors who like to crochet.
So I joined them and started to make a crochet sleeve for my pen jar

but one of my visitors thought it would be much better as a hat.

After the visitors went home I made a painting for
"Mix it Monthly", theme "Colourblocking",
"Art Journal Journey", theme "Inspired by the Masters" and
"Paint Party Friday".

I've always admired the work of Elaine Pamphilon since I first saw her work in an Edinburgh Gallery.   Do have a look at her work here, it's the best ever.

She sometimes paints birds with still life or trees.

I painted flowers and a bird on to text paper,

some colour squares on to watercolour paper, enhanced with a little gold stamping,

cut out the flowers and bird with scissors and used old-fashioned paste to assemble the picture

and had a photo-editing session to make this.

I hope you like it as much as I do.

  2. So, you're Judy today, eh? You just never can tell who you will wake up feeling like. ***snickering*** Watching your creativity is such a joy. And then seeing how you flipflop it with photo editing is magic. I love how the writing turned white with the bold colors. Very cool indeed. Teddy there looks very well loved and is quite enjoying the lime light today. Not to mention that she looks quite pleased that the pen jar cozy looks so much cuter on her head.

  5. Elaines work is really thrilling. It is somehow a mixture from naive and modern painting...
... and I love, what you did here, again with a little bird! No Sheila-Creation without a bird!

  14. Yo Shiela! its lovely and I particularly like the way the text has turned out as its so striking, love it. Took a look at Elaines work and I agree its really good and so unusual. I am a crocheter rather than a knitter - each winter I crochet a blanket and the bigger it gets it warms my knees then I unpick it all and do it again the next winter!!! My mum can read a book, watch tv, hold a conversation and knit all at the same time!! What a gal!!! xxx

  29. What a fun post! I loved the bird and flowers piece and how you were able to create an entirely new look with photo editing. The hat/jar cover is a work of art too. It looks better on the bear than on the jar, but either way works.

  31. Hello Sheila the teddy and teddy hat look made for each other, I am sure it should be a hat and not a jar adornment. The other pictures are again imaginative and so you, especially love the fat bird in the last picture
