CHRISTMAS COLLAGE

I'm still enjoying "Art Journal Journey's" current challenge "Collage" and so are many other artists as there are, to date, 140 entries.

I battled with this one for hours, finally pushing it into Photo-shop to smooth out the colours and to add one more digital star.

I ended up with several versions, some cropped and some with different colours so I finally asked Mr. Esmeralda to pass his artistic eagle eye over the options.  He choose this one, which I wouldn't have chosen but he's often right.

It's made from a painted background, 17 bits of painted paper, 1 stamped star, 1 digital star and 3 small pieces of washi tape.

And here's what happened when I put it into a kaleidoscope making program:

I'm also linking to
"Moo-Mania", theme "Merry Christmas",
"Collage Obsession", theme "Winter, Holiday, Christmas, New Year" and to
"Paint Party Friday".

  5. Oh, Sheila! My new eyesight LOVES all this color! The kaleidascopes are loads of fun, especially the first one with all the stars. But the original collage is my absolute favorite of all the versions. It has so many great details to find inside. This vision of yours for a Christmas collage is so fresh and joyful!

  29. All of these are fascinating. I can't quite make up my mind if I like one better than the others, but here goes! I think the original has the edge for me because I can see more Christmassy elements in it. For example, the Christmas trees growing on the hillside, the pear trees poking their heads above a hedgerow, the holly leaves, the stars and the gold. Chuck in some frankincense and myrrh and you've got the works!
