SOMETHING DIFFERENT

The challenge this month at "Mix it Monthly" is to use this necklace, three specified colours and flowers.
The challenge at "Take a Word" this week is to use warm colours in our artwork.

This is Conny's necklace

and these are the three colours.

I wanted to make something different this time, a collage.

I don't have a large supply of collage bits and pieces, but I found this little flower and the circular piece top right which could abstractly represent the necklace (both not my designs).   The rest was painted with watercolour inks.
This is approximately 3 x 4 inches, a slightly cautious collage to start with.

I photo-edited it to change to the challenge colours, and replaced the circly thing top left with an oil pastel and dye painting I had made earlier.

Painted a frame

inserted a pink photo-edit frame between the picture and painted frame

finished it off with a maroon frame

decided it needed a bit more depth, so took a painting I had made previously

changed the colours, gave it a swirl, resized it

and gave it a maroon edging.

Finished piece .... at last.

And I couldn't resist showing you what happened when I kaleidoscoped the picture, as I thought it was quite pretty.

  8. You always have my mind spinning when I get to watch your process of a piece. To incorporate your real paintings and blend them with some cyber artistic technologies is quite fascinating and the results are amazing! Too many favorite individual pieces in this one to choose any single favorite piece. But that kaleidoscope finale is quite the show piece!
