THE SEA AND SNOW

The theme at Take a Word this week is "Botanical".

Below is a painting of a Hydractinia echinata, a species which forms a mat on gastropod shells occupied by hermit crabs.  These two have escaped to go for a day out by the sea.

And what could be more beautiful in the whole of nature than a single leaf.  I was out for a walk over the hill close by, when I saw this leaf in the snow.  "Stay there" I said as I ran back to get my camera, and it did.

  4. I couldn't read those big words, but I have no problem with pictures! It is quite beautiful down at the bottom of the sea! And just as lovely on the top of the snow! I've got a feeling that lovely single leaf is going to become something quite abstract in a rebirth process.

  18. The little leaf in the snow is very cleverly photographed, you seem to have captured the light perfctly.....it's an iconic photo which as has been previously stated...we will see this leaf again in a different format of that I am sure. I love the story of the oil pastels you have an incredible ability to make your pictures come alive.
